What types of garage equipment does Premier Garage Equipment supply?

We supply, install and maintain the full range of workshop equipment including vehicle lifts (2-post, 4-post, scissor, inground and mobile column), MOT bay equipment, wheel and tyre equipment (tyre changers, wheel balancers, ADAS alignment), air compressors, fume extraction systems, air conditioning, workshop furniture and fluid management systems.

Do you supply and install, or just supply?

We offer a complete one-stop service - site survey, design, supply, installation and ongoing aftersales support. You deal with one company throughout the entire project.

What vehicle lift types do you offer?

Accepted Answer

We supply 2-post lifts, 4-post lifts, scissor lifts, platform scissor lifts, inground lifts and mobile column lifts. Our engineers will recommend the right type based on your vehicle range, bay dimensions and throughput requirements.

Can you set up a complete MOT bay?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We design and install complete MOT test lanes for Class 1, 2, 4 and 7 vehicles, including lifts, brake testers, play detectors, emissions testers, headlamp testers and the DVSA-approved VTS computer system.

Do you carry out LOLER thorough examinations on vehicle lifts?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All vehicle lifts are subject to LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998) and must be thoroughly examined at least every 6 months. Our GEA-accredited engineers carry out LOLER thorough examinations and issue the required reports.

Do you offer planned maintenance contracts for garage equipment?

Yes. We offer planned preventative maintenance (PPM) contracts for all equipment we supply, helping you stay compliant with PUWER and LOLER regulations and reducing the risk of unexpected breakdowns.

Are your engineers GEA accredited?

Yes. Premier Garage Equipment is a member of the Garage Equipment Association (GEA) and our engineers hold GEA accreditation, giving you confidence that work is carried out to the highest industry standards.

What types of industrial doors do you supply and install?

Accepted Answer

We supply, install and maintain roller shutter doors, sectional overhead doors, rapid action (high speed) doors and sliding folding doors. We cover manual and electric versions across all types.

What is the difference between a roller shutter door and a sectional overhead door?

Accepted Answer

A roller shutter door coils into a compact drum above the opening, making it ideal where headroom is limited. A sectional overhead door rises in horizontal panels along the ceiling, providing better insulation and a cleaner appearance - popular in showrooms and temperature-controlled environments.

What is a rapid action door and when would I need one?

Rapid action doors (also called high speed doors) open and close very quickly - typically in under a second. They are used in environments where frequent traffic would make a standard door impractical, or where temperature control, hygiene or dust exclusion is critical, such as food production, cold stores and clean rooms.

Do your industrial doors comply with PUWER regulations?

Yes. All doors we supply and install are designed and commissioned to comply with PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998) and the relevant harmonised European standards. We also carry out PUWER inspections as part of our aftersales service.

Are your doors CE marked?

Yes. All industrial doors we supply carry CE marking in accordance with the Machinery Directive, confirming they meet essential health and safety requirements.

Do you offer emergency breakdown cover for industrial doors?

Yes. We provide emergency breakdown and repair services for all door types. Our engineers carry a comprehensive stock of spare parts to minimise downtime.

What is liquid engineering?

Accepted Answer

Liquid engineering covers the design, supply, installation and maintenance of systems that store, dispense and manage automotive fluids - including engine oil, transmission fluid, coolant, AdBlue, waste oil and fuel. Premier Liquid Engineers is our specialist division for this work.

What fluid dispensing systems do you install?

We install wall-bar dispensing systems, hose reel systems, fluid monitoring and management systems (including Graco), AdBlue dispensing, grease dispensing and complete bay service systems. Systems can be designed for single bays or entire workshop facilities.

Do you design bespoke pipework systems?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our liquid engineering team carries out full site surveys, produces CAD drawings and designs bespoke pipework systems to suit your facility layout, fluid types and throughput requirements - all installed to British Standards.

What are the regulations around oil storage?

Accepted Answer

Above-ground oil storage in England is governed by the Control of Pollution (Oil Storage) Regulations 2001. These require that tanks over 200 litres have secondary containment (a bund) capable of holding 110% of the tank's capacity. We advise on compliance and supply and install compliant systems.

How should waste oil be managed in a garage workshop?

Waste oil must be stored in a dedicated, labelled, bunded container and collected by a licensed waste carrier. We supply and install pumped discharge systems, suction systems, remote suction lines and alarm systems to make waste oil management safe, compliant and efficient.

Yes. We supply a full range of drum and barrel handling equipment including drum pumps, barrel pumps, drum trolleys, spill containment pallets and drum storage solutions.

Yes. Our aftersales team offers planned maintenance contracts, calibration services, a technical helpline and breakdown and repair cover for all liquid engineering systems we install.

Question 23

What is a fluid management system and why would I need one?

Accepted Answer

A fluid management system (such as Graco's Pulse system) monitors and records every fluid dispense in your workshop - tracking which vehicle received which fluid, in what quantity, and by which technician. This reduces waste, prevents incorrect fluid use and provides a full audit trail for warranty and compliance purposes.
